Thanks for stopping by! Are you wondering what makes me qualified to teach you? Let me share a little bit about myself. I am a certified PK-12 music teacher in the state of Texas. I taught elementary music in the public schools for five years before becoming a full-time stay at home mom.
What got me into teaching music in the first place though? Well… it was a long and FUN process! I’ll give you the short version. I started playing piano when I was very young. I loved that so much, I started playing percussion in sixth grade. I played through high school, and decided I wanted to study music in college. I had the chance to perform in all sorts of fun groups like percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, orchestra, and even Javanese gamelan ensemble! That was so cool!
When I graduated, I spent a few months in California as an intern for a multinational music instrument manufacturer. I learned about the time and care that goes into creating world-class musical instruments. It was really hard work, but I learned so much!
Once I finished my internship I came back to Texas where I worked for my college’s band program. I learned about the behind the scenes work that goes into creating an awesome music program.
Then, like I mentioned earlier, I went into teaching! The very best part!
I don’t drive to a school to teach anymore, but it doesn’t change the fact that I want to teach you! I hope you will join me for some FUN, free lessons to help you be a better musician!
